Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud warned against rising communal forces aiming to undermine the Constitution, during a national conference of the Telangana SC, ST, BC, and Minority Federation held at Ravindra Bharathi.
Speaking alongside ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Vivek Venkataswamy, AICC SC Cell president Rajendra Pal Gautam, and former governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Goud said that political power in India has historically been secured with the support of marginalised communities. However, he accused present-day ruling forces of attempting to divide the nation on religious lines despite never having contributed to the freedom struggle.
He alleged that efforts were underway to replace the Constitution with the Manusmriti, and urged all communities to unite in its defence.

Goud praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for implementing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s inclusive vision of “Haq sabka, hissedari sabki.” He highlighted Telangana’s move to become a national model by enacting two laws that provide 42% reservation to BCs in local bodies, education, and employment.
He stressed that safeguarding the Constitution is a shared duty and called for resisting communal forces that threaten democracy.
