Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on Wednesday launched a strong attack on the BRS, saying the party was headed for disappearance before the next elections.
Mahesh Kumar Goud criticises Kavitha’s resignation move
Addressing the media, Goud said BRS MLC K Kavitha had spoken “a mix of harsh truths and lies.” He recalled that earlier, everyone believed Kavitha was an arrow released by former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. “But why has that arrow now turned toward Harish Rao? This only shows that KCR’s family is staging a new drama to mislead people,” he said.
He termed Kavitha’s resignation a welcome development but remarked that it should have come five years earlier, when people would have truly accepted it. “For ten years, they looted the state, fought over shares, and after being pushed out, are now exposing their own party’s misdeeds,” he said.
Congress says BRS survival at risk
Goud alleged that Kavitha realised the flaws in BRS governance only after she herself became cornered. “Why should we be held responsible for conflicts involving Harish Rao and Santosh Rao? We have always stood with the people,” he said, while condemning her criticism of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
The Congress leader predicted that if the situation continued, the BRS would completely vanish from Telangana by the next elections.
