Hyderabad: The Congress government is all set to celebrate Telangana Prajapalana Dinotsavam across the state today. The government issued a circular directing district in-charge ministers to hoist the national flag in their respective districts.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lead the main event of Telangana Prajapalana Dinotsavam at Public Gardens in Hyderabad. He will hoist the national flag and later address the public gathering.
Ministers to lead district-level celebrations
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will hoist the flag in Khammam. Minister Komatireddy Vivek will do so in Medak, Konda Surekha in Warangal, and Adluri Laxman in Karimnagar.
In Bhadrachalam, Tummala Nageswara Rao will hoist the flag. Jupally Krishna Rao will lead the programme in Mahabubnagar, Seethakka in Mulugu, Sridhar Babu in Rangareddy, and Damodar Rajanarasimha in Sangareddy. Officials said elaborate arrangements were made for the events.
Meanwhile, the Union government will observe Telangana Liberation Day, the ceremony to be held at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend as the chief guest and hoist the national flag. BJP leaders confirmed they completed all arrangements.
The previous BRS government had marked September 17 as National Integration Day.
