Hyderabad: Telangana degree admissions crossed 1.97 lakh this year, reflecting a steady increase in demand for undergraduate courses across the state. This marks a slight rise from last year’s 1.96 lakh intake.
Admissions through Degree Online Services Telangana (DOST) concluded with 1,43,691 students securing seats in three phases. An additional 54,048 students gained entry during the special phase, pushing the total to 1,97,739.

DOST allotted special phase seats on Wednesday. Of the 57,338 students who submitted web options, 94% were allotted colleges. Commerce topped the charts with 22,328 admissions, followed by Physical Sciences (12,211), Life Sciences (10,435), and Arts (8,979).
There are 960 degree colleges across Telangana with a total seat capacity of 4,38,926. Self-reporting for allotted candidates must be completed online by August 8, according to DOST convenor and Higher Education Council Chairman Prof. Balakista Reddy.
Officials said Telangana degree admissions continue to show strong student interest, especially in job-linked streams such as Commerce and Science.
