Hyderabad: Outgoing Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. Jitender on Monday said citizen-centric policing must remain the guiding principle of the State Police. He made the remarks during a farewell programme organised at the DGP’s office by the ministerial staff association.
Jitender, who served as Telangana DGP for 14 months, said he had focused on making policing people-oriented. “Police officers and staff are also part of society. That is why we implemented several measures with citizens at the centre,” he said.
He noted that Telangana secured the top position in the India Justice Report during his tenure, crediting the achievement to the commitment of officers and personnel. He urged the force to continue working with integrity to sustain the reputation earned.
