Hyderabad: Telangana Food Safety Task Force teams, together with Gazetted Food Inspectors (GFIs) and Food Safety Officers (FSOs), inspected 55 pizza outlets across the state. The drive covered 18 Pizza Hut branches, 16 Domino’s outlets, and 21 local pizzerias and bakeries.
Pizza Hut outlets under scrutiny
Inspectors flagged violations in 8 Pizza Hut outlets. In GHMC limits, they found license mismatches, storage of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food together, and equipment not calibrated. At Kazipet, they noticed unclean machinery. In Warangal, medical certificates came without proper examination. In addition, outlets in Nizamabad failed to display licenses, maintain freezer temperature, or record cleaning schedules. At Nalgonda, bins lacked lids and sauce bottles carried no expiry labels.
Domino’s outlets record widespread lapses
Officials also listed violations in 10 Domino’s branches. In GHMC areas, they saw several outlets without displayed licenses. At Nizamabad, one branch used an expired license and ignored medical records. Pest control was overdue across multiple outlets. Moreover, staff in several branches worked without gloves or masks. At Subedari, machinery remained dirty and no records existed. At Warangal, food handlers skipped protective gear. Meanwhile, in Mahabubnagar, staff did not separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
Local pizzerias face violations too
Six of 21 local outlets also came under action. Pizza Paradise and Master V Bakers in Hyderabad ran kitchens with overused oil, unlabelled food items, and rusty ovens. They also lacked medical certificates. Pizza Korner in Medak displayed uncovered vegetables and ignored pest control. Furthermore, La Pinoz branches in Kokapet and Narsingi failed to clean equipment on schedule.
Inspectors discarded unsafe food immediately. They also collected samples and ordered food business operators to fix all violations without delay.
