Hyderabad: Marking World Blood Donor Day 2025, Telangana Governor and President of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Telangana State Branch, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, inaugurated a voluntary blood donation camp on Saturday at Samkruthi, the Raj Bhavan Community Hall.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor thanked all voluntary donors, calling their life-saving contribution a sacred act of seva for humanity. “Your selfless service not only saves lives but also brings hope to countless families facing medical emergencies,” he said.
He went on to acknowledge the dedicated efforts of motivators, organizers, and CSR partners who continue to support voluntary blood donation drives. Special appreciation was also extended to doctors and Red Cross volunteers for their key role in ensuring safe and efficient blood collection.
The camp saw enthusiastic participation from members of the Raj Bhavan Pariwar and security personnel, who came forward to donate blood as part of the drive.
During the event, the Governor presented certificates to the donors and honoured NGOs and institutional representatives for their exceptional contributions to social service and corporate social responsibility.
The event was attended by Principal Secretary to Governor and IRCS Telangana Chairman Shri M. Dana Kishore, IAS; Joint Secretary to Governor Shri J. Bhavani Shankar; senior Raj Bhavan officials; IRCS state and district functionaries; volunteers; and other dignitaries.
