Telangana Medical Admissions

Hyderabad: The Telangana government issued revised orders amending GO 33 after the Supreme Court judgment on local status in medical education cleared hurdles for MBBS and BDS admissions.

Following the notification, Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) began the admission process for MBBS and BDS courses. Applications will be accepted from Tuesday until September 11, while state quota counselling is scheduled to start on September 15.

8,430 MBBS seats, 1,140 BDS seats available

According to KNRUHS, 8,430 MBBS seats are available in 61 government and private colleges across Telangana. In addition, 1,140 BDS seats are offered through one government and 11 private dental colleges.

Eligibility relaxations for specific categories

The university granted admission eligibility to four categories of students, even if they have not studied in Telangana. These include children of state government employees serving outside the state, children of Telangana-cadre All India Services officers (IAS, IPS, IFS) serving outside Telangana, children of defence, ex-servicemen, and armed police personnel, and children of employees of state corporations, agencies, and institutions.

Candidates were advised to visit www.knruhs.telangana.gov.in for detailed information.
