Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Thursday removed Dr. Rajakumari as superintendent of Gandhi Hospital and named Dr. Vani as her replacement with additional charge. Health Department Secretary Christina issued the official order confirming the decision.
Officials said the government acted after receiving several complaints about Dr. Rajakumari’s performance. Medical and health staff had informed Health Minister Damodar Rajnarsimha that she failed to manage hospital administration effectively.
Gandhi Hospital superintendent removed after complaints
Authorities treated the complaints as serious and linked the removal to disciplinary measures. The health department appointed Dr. Vani, Additional Director of Medical Education, as the new superintendent while she continues in her existing role.
The order stated that the change aligned with the government’s push to improve administration in state-run hospitals. Officials said the Revanth Reddy government wanted to tighten governance and accountability in healthcare institutions.
The new appointment took effect immediately. Dr. Vani will hold the position until the government makes a permanent posting.
