Hyderabad: The Telangana government has approved 1,392 posts in the Scheduled Castes Development department for the 2025–26 financial year, as per G.O. Rt. No.1450 issued on Saturday.
These posts will remain active from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. They include 11 contractual roles, 197 part-time jobs, and 1,184 outsourced positions. All staff will report to the Commissioner of SC Development.
The decision aims to reduce staff shortages in pre-matric and post-matric hostels, along with district welfare offices. Officials said these additional roles will improve hostel services, including food, housing, education, and safety for SC students.
Adluri Laxman Kumar, Minister for SC, ST, and Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, said the move reflects Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s commitment to supporting socially disadvantaged communities.
“Every student deserves a conducive learning environment,” Kumar said. “This order will strengthen hostel facilities and create jobs for unemployed youth, helping many families gain financial stability.”
The government also directed departments to disburse salaries through the IFMIS-DBT system. Outsourced staff will receive payments via authorised agencies to ensure timely wages, fair hiring, and better accountability in hostel management.
