Telangana government plans to construct the Greenfield Radial Road (Ratan Tata Road) connecting ORR at Raviryal to RRR at Amangal, enhancing connectivity for key urban zones.
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has announced the construction of the Greenfield Radial Road (Ratan Tata Road), a key infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Raviryal and the Regional Ring Road (RRR) at Amangal. The road will play a crucial role in enhancing transportation across major urban development zones, including Skill City and Future City.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) have been assigned the responsibility of executing the project, which will be developed in two phases. The road will pass through six mandals—Maheshwaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Kandukur, Yacharam, Kadthal, and Amangal—covering 14 villages in Ranga Reddy district.
Project Details and Features
The total length of the proposed Greenfield Radial Road is 41.50 km, divided into two phases:
- Phase I: Tata Interchange (Raviryal) to Meerkhanpet – 19.2 km
- Project cost: Rs 1,665 crore
- Phase II: Meerkhanpet to RRR at Amangal – 22.30 km
- Project cost: Rs 2,365 crore
Key Design Features
- Right of Way (ROW): 100 meters (Access-controlled expressway)
- Main Carriageway: Six lanes (3+3), with future expansion to eight lanes (4+4)
- Metro/Railway Corridor: 20-meter-wide land reserved in the central median
- Service Roads: Three lanes on both sides
- Greenbelt: 2 meters on each side
- Cycle Track: 3 meters wide on both sides
- Footpath: 2 meters wide on both sides
- Utility Corridor: 2 meters wide on both sides
Tender Submission Details
HMDA and HGCL have invited bids from reputed agencies for executing the project under the following packages:
- Phase I: Tata Interchange (Raviryal) to Meerkhanpet (19.20 km)
- Phase II: Meerkhanpet to RRR at Amangal (22.30 km)
Tender documents, including technical specifications, scope of work, and terms & conditions, will be available on the e-procurement portal and the HMDA website from February 28, 2025. The technical bids will be opened on March 21, 2025.
This project marks a significant milestone in improving the infrastructure and connectivity of Skill City, Future City, and Fourth City, facilitating smoother transportation for businesses, commuters, and residents in these expanding urban areas.
