Hyderabad: The Telangana Department of Handlooms & Textiles will inaugurate the National Handloom Day–2025 celebrations with a major exhibition-cum-sale event titled Telangana Rising 2047, running from August 7 to 17 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad.
The event will be inaugurated today at 11 a.m. by Agriculture and Handlooms Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao. The exhibition will remain open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering a showcase of handloom and handicraft products from across the state.
National Handloom Day celebrations to feature key political leaders
Union Minister for Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Environment Minister Konda Surekha, and Women & Child Welfare Minister Dr. Seethakka will attend as Guests of Honour. Several MLCs, MPs, and GHMC officials, including Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, will join as special invitees.
The exhibition is being organised under the leadership of Principal Secretary and Handlooms Commissioner Shailaja Ramaiyer, IAS. The initiative aims to promote the state’s handloom sector and provide a market platform for weavers and artisans.
