Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raj Narasimha extended heartfelt greetings to doctors on Doctors Day, acknowledging their critical role from birth to end of life. He praised their tireless work in strengthening the state’s health system and delivering quality care.
Referring to the COVID crisis, the minister called doctors true heroes who worked day and night to save lives without fear.
He noted that the government is providing full support to doctors. Around 1,000 doctors have been promoted in the last 18 months.
Narasimha said the long-pending Osmania new hospital project has finally entered the construction phase. Efforts are on to improve working conditions for doctors and staff, with a 15 percent hike recently implemented in stipends for junior doctors and honorarium for senior residents.
He assured continued support for the medical fraternity.
Narasimha stressed that under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the Congress government fulfilled many poll promises within just 18 months, despite paying interest on Rs 8 lakh crore of debt left by the previous administration, while maintaining welfare schemes.
