Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Wednesday ordered round-the-clock hospital readiness for the next three days following a heavy rainfall warning across the state. He reviewed preparedness with senior officials in a morning teleconference.
Under the directive, hospital superintendents, RMOs, medical officers, doctors, and support staff must stay on-site during the alert period. All leave has been cancelled. The minister told hospitals to provide immediate care to all emergency patients and pregnant people. Those close to delivery are to be shifted to hospital waiting rooms.
Hospitals told to stay ready round the clock
Ambulances and 102 service vehicles must remain on standby with drivers and EMTs available at all times. Hospitals were told to keep electricity running without interruption and switch on generators instantly during outages. Electricians must be available 24 hours a day. Staff must also prevent rainwater from entering or stagnating in premises.
The minister ordered senior health officials to remain in the field, monitor conditions, and take swift action when needed.
