HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court has ruled in favor of a Class 10 student, Dandaboina Harish, who was previously debarred in connection with the SSC Hindi question paper leak case. The court overturned the debarment order issued by the District Education Officer (DEO) and directed the authorities to release the student’s examination results.
Harish, a student at the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Backward Class Welfare Residential Education School, was accused of involvement in the Hindi exam paper leak during the last academic year. Following the allegations, the DEO barred him from taking further examinations. However, Harish challenged this decision in the High Court, which permitted him to continue writing his remaining exams. Despite this relief, the examination board withheld his results.
In its latest ruling, the High Court found the debarment unjustified and ordered the authorities to declare Harish’s examination results. The decision ensures that the student’s academic progress is not hindered due to unproven allegations.
Balmuri Venkat, the State President of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), who had filed the petition on Harish’s behalf, personally handed over the court’s order copy to the student at Gandhi Bhavan. He assured continued support to Harish and his family, including assistance with higher education.
This judgment highlights the judiciary’s role in protecting students’ rights and preventing unjust penalties without substantial evidence.
