Telangana Resumes ‘Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa’ Scheme, Rs 50.65 Crore Disbursed to Labourers
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has resumed the disbursement of funds under the ‘Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa’ scheme, aimed at providing financial assistance to landless labourers in the Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts. The initiative offers Rs 12,000 annually to beneficiaries in two instalments, supporting economically vulnerable individuals.
The scheme was initially launched on January 26, with pilot village assemblies held across mandals. In the first phase, Rs 6,000 was credited to the bank accounts of 18,180 labourers. However, implementation was temporarily halted due to the enforcement of the election code during the council elections. Following a request from Minister Seethakka, the government resumed fund disbursement in districts unaffected by the election code restrictions.
As a result, approximately Rs 39.74 crore has been transferred to 66,240 labourers in Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar. To date, the state has disbursed a total of Rs 50.65 crore to 83,420 beneficiaries under this welfare initiative. The remaining labourers are expected to receive their assistance once the election code concludes.
The scheme underscores Telangana’s commitment to social welfare, ensuring direct financial aid through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The government aims to expand the initiative further to cover more eligible beneficiaries in the coming months.
