Hyderabad: The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education announced that it will introduce a new syllabus from the next academic year. Inter Board Secretary Krishna Aditya said the reforms include AI classes in collaboration with Nandan Nilekani’s Ek Step Foundation and coaching for NEET, JEE, and CLAT through Physics Wallah.
He explained that the Board has prepared proposals to fill 494 vacant lecturer posts in government colleges and has already sent them for financial approval. Aditya expressed confidence that approval would come soon. During a media briefing at the Inter Board office on Wednesday, he outlined the programmes being implemented to strengthen intermediate education as directed by the Chief Minister. Additionally, he said government junior colleges will provide midday meals and uniforms, similar to government schools.
Inter Board plans AI classrooms, CCTV monitoring, and mega parents’ meets
Aditya noted that the Board has already installed 5,500 CCTV cameras across colleges through the Command Control Room. From November, officials will also distribute digital screens to run AI classes. To improve attendance, the Board intends to strengthen the face recognition system. Parents will therefore receive immediate alerts if students skip class, while principals must follow up with them. Authorities plan to implement the system fully after Dasara.
Meanwhile, the Inter Board will conduct state-wide mega parent meetings from September 26. Officials also plan to organise interaction sessions where successful alumni share their experiences with juniors. Moreover, the Board will create a dedicated social media cell in each district to provide timely updates.
Aditya further said that all practical exams will take place under CCTV surveillance. He directed private colleges to install cameras without exception. Finally, he clarified that the jumbling system will not apply to this year’s intermediate practicals.
