IPS Transfers: The Telangana government has issued transfer orders for eight IPS officers, while two Andhra Pradesh cadre officers have been relieved as per the Union Home Ministry’s directives.
HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has transferred eight IPS officers in a recent administrative reshuffle. Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari issued orders on Saturday, reassigning key police officials to different positions.
As per the new appointments, Vishwaprasad has been posted as the Additional Commissioner of Crimes, Hyderabad, while Joel Davis has been transferred as the Joint Commissioner of Traffic, Hyderabad. Gajarao Bhupal has been appointed as the Joint Commissioner of Traffic, Cyberabad.
Additionally, Naveen Kumar has been assigned as CID SP, Ram Reddy as CID ADC, Sridhar as Intelligence SP, Chaitanya Kumar as Hyderabad SB DCP, and Srikant as ADC to the Governor.
Meanwhile, the state government has relieved two Andhra Pradesh cadre IPS officers following the Union Home Ministry’s orders. Anjani Kumar, who was serving as the Director General (DG) of Road Safety, and Abhilasha Bisht, DG of the State Police Academy, have been directed to report immediately to the Andhra Pradesh government.
Due to the ongoing MLC election code, the government has written to the Election Commission regarding the relieving of Karimnagar Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty. His transfer will depend on the Election Commission’s decision.
Some officials allotted to Andhra Pradesh during the state bifurcation have continued to serve in Telangana as per the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) orders. Further updates on the implementation of these transfers are awaited.
