Hyderabad: The Telangana government has initiated administrative work for issuing job notifications across departments, following the completion of Scheduled Caste categorisation. With the key process now cleared, the government and recruitment bodies have started moving to release notifications as early as possible.
As per the 2024–25 job calendar, departments had already identified vacancies and sent proposals to TSPSC and other recruiting agencies. Those proposals are now being revised to align with the new SC categorisation and updated roster-based vacancy details.
A revised job calendar is in the works. Sources indicate notifications for over 20,000 posts may be released shortly.
Backlog posts are also being considered. The state had earlier decided to release an annual job calendar and issued one for 2024–25. However, implementation stalled due to a Supreme Court judgment on SC sub-categorisation. The government had announced that no new notifications would be released until the classification was in place.
With categorisation enforced from April 14, departments resumed vacancy identification. TSPSC has written to departments asking them to revise earlier proposals based on the new SC groupings.
Departments are now sending revised lists. Job notifications are expected across categories listed in the calendar, including Groups, teachers, police, electricity, Gurukulam, and health services. The government also plans to combine these with backlog posts.
Group, engineering, Gurukulam, and teacher posts are in the pipeline. The RTC and health departments alone are expected to account for around 10,000 posts. Engineering wings in power utilities and other departments have another 2,000–3,000 openings. Gurukulam recruitments include an estimated 2,000 backlog vacancies.
