Hyderabad: Telangana has received 8.58 lakh land dispute petitions from across the state since the launch of the Bhu Bharati revenue system.
Finance Minister P. Srinivas Reddy shared the figures at the closing session of the Revenue Conference. Khammam led with 67,000 petitions, followed by Kothagudem (61,000), Warangal (54,000), Gopalpally (48,000), and Nalgonda (42,000). Other districts also reported thousands of land dispute petitions.
The minister said the revenue system was dysfunctional during the BRS regime, and reforms began after the Congress government took office. The Dharani portal was scrapped and replaced with the Bhu Bharati portal and law.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy introduced the Bhu Bharati law on April 14. In three phases between April 17 and June 20, over 10,700 revenue conferences were held in 5,933 mandals.
Free forms were distributed in villages and collected without fees during the conferences under MRO supervision. Of the total 8.58 lakh land dispute petitions, 3.27 lakh have been processed online so far, with the rest underway.
