Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), will launch India’s first state-led digital public infrastructure for artificial intelligence on July 2.
The Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX) platform is aimed at enabling collaboration across state departments, industry, research institutes, and startups to develop cross-domain AI solutions.
TGDeX has been developed by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, with JICA’s DXLab providing strategic and technical guidance.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the state should emerge not just as a leader in AI, but as a model for how technology can empower people, inviting stakeholders to support the initiative.
TGDeX will build upon Telangana’s AI ecosystem, including government departments, private sector players, academic institutions, and both open-source and licensed data providers.
The platform will also leverage the Open Data Platform, which holds government datasets meant for the public domain.
The initiative will see participation from Telangana AI Mission, T-Hub, MATH (the AI/ML Centre of Excellence at T-Hub), IIT Hyderabad, and the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH), aiming to host over 2,000 AI-ready datasets within five years.
