Hyderabad: The Telangana Lawyers’ Joint Action Committee has warned of legal action if any political party attempts to obstruct the 42% reservation for Backward Classes in the upcoming local body elections.
In a meeting held at Kachiguda, convened by BC Welfare Association national vice-president Gujja Satyam and former Additional Advocate General Jakkula Vamshikrishna, the committee declared it would challenge any interference in court.
The committee also announced plans for mass protests—one lakh drums would be beaten in front of the offices, institutions, and residences of those opposing the state government’s reservation ordinance.
BC Welfare Association national president and MP R. Krishnaiah, along with senior High Court advocates Ramesh Babu, Nagula Srinivas Yadav, Ashok Kumar, Devender, Naveen Kumar, Anjayya, Akhil Kumar, Vinod Kumar, and Rangachari, were among those who addressed the gathering.
