Hyderabad: Telangana’s life sciences sector has attracted ₹54,000 crore in fresh investments since December 2023, generating over two lakh new jobs, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said on Wednesday.
Speaking at the 6th Board Meeting of Telangana Life Sciences Foundation, Sridhar Babu said the sector’s rapid expansion reflected Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision to position the state as a global hub for pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and medical technologies. Hyderabad now ranks among the world’s top seven life sciences clusters, and is the only Indian city in the list, he noted.
He said proactive policies and robust infrastructure had drawn leading multinational companies including Lilly, Amgen, MSD, Zoetis, Evernorth and Olympus to the state.
