Hyderabad: The State Election Commission (SEC) has directed all district collectors to complete arrangements for the Telangana local body election as the notification window nears. The Commission issued clear, time-bound instructions to speed up work.
Collectors must enter reservation details for wards, gram panchayats, MPTCs, and ZPTCs on the T-Poll portal. They should also verify entries on the ground to ensure accuracy and consistency.
The website already lists voter rolls for wards, gram panchayats, MPTCs, and ZPTCs. The Panchayat Raj Department prepared reservation tables and issued gazette notifications. Officials now need to add those particulars to T-Poll and cross-check them.
Mandal Development Officers will upload ward-level data. Revenue Divisional Officers will handle sarpanch information. Zilla Parishad CEOs will record MPTC and ZPTC reservations.
Collectors told to inspect centres and finalize webcasting, micro-observers
Collectors will inspect nomination centres for MPTC and ZPTC segments. They will arrange staff, materials, and logistics. They will also visit problematic, highly problematic, and most problematic locations. Consequently, they must plan webcasting and indicate the required number of micro-observers.
The SEC ordered immediate tenders for ballot paper printing. Offset printing press owners should file sealed quotations by 2 p.m. on the 8th of this month. The Collectorate will open the tenders at 3 p.m. the same day in the presence of ZP CEOs, DPOs, and other officials.
Finally, collectors will publish the related documents and updates through the official website to ensure transparency during the Telangana local body election process.
