Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Saturday said the state will complete local body elections by September 30, as directed by the High Court.
He told reporters that the election notification will be released by September 10. MPTC elections will be held first, followed by ZPTC polls. The timeline follows the court’s order to wrap up all local body polls within three months.
The state government earlier announced 42% reservations for Backward Classes. However, the bill is still awaiting the President’s assent. Despite the delay, the Election Commission has begun election preparations.
