Hyderabad: A man facing trial under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act attempted suicide on Monday morning in Subhashpally village of Medak district.
The man, identified as Sudhakar Reddy, reportedly recorded a selfie video while consuming poison, claiming innocence in the case.
Police said a POCSO case had been registered against him nearly two years ago. As the trial neared conclusion, he grew fearful of a possible conviction and tried to end his life.
His friends, after seeing the video, tracked down his location and shifted him to a government hospital. Doctors described his condition as critical.
