HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has decided to provide midday meals to Class 10 students appearing for board examinations, following directions from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
The Education Department issued orders to this effect, taking into account the rising summer temperatures and the difficulties faced by students travelling from remote areas to mandal headquarters for the exams.
According to officials, students will be served lunch at the examination centres itself after each day’s exam, before they return home. All District Education Officers (DEOs) have been directed to make proper arrangements to implement this decision.
The SSC (Class 10) board examinations commenced across Telangana on 21 March and will continue until 4 April.
