Hyderabad: Telangana Minority Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Saturday formally launched the online application process for Haj 2026.
Speaking at the event, he recalled visiting the Qazipet Dargah prior to the Congress’s electoral victory, accompanied by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The duo offered prayers for the formation of a Congress government in the state.
The minister credited the electoral success of the Congress in Telangana to minority voters. He said the chief minister’s decision to induct him into the cabinet reflected a deep trust, for which he expressed gratitude. Kumar added that Haj Committee Chairman Syed Shah Ghulam Afzal Biabani Khusro Pasha had extended special prayers for him ahead of the cabinet appointment.
Among those present at the launch were Government Advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir; AIMIM MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj; TGMRIES President Faheem Qureshi; Congress Vice President Mujahid Alam Khan; former corporator Wajid Hussain; Haj Committee Executive Officer Sajjad Ali; Assistant EO Irfan Sharif; and active committee members Mujib and Laiq.
Laxman Kumar reiterated his commitment to minority welfare, stating that the government would roll out several new initiatives in the coming months.
