HYDERABAD: Telangana has earned another global accolade as it has been selected to host the 72nd edition of Miss World 2025. The prestigious event will run from 7 May to 31 May, culminating with the grand finale on 31 May at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad.
The announcement was made jointly by Julia Morley, Chairperson of the Miss World Organisation, and Smita Sabharwal, Secretary for Tourism, Culture, Heritage, and Youth Affairs of the Telangana Government. Morley stated that Telangana’s rich cultural heritage, modern advancements, and exceptional hospitality make it an ideal showcase for a global audience. She added that the partnership was not merely about hosting a pageant but also about empowering communities and celebrating diversity.
Smita Sabharwal expressed pride in Telangana’s selection as the host for Miss World 2025. She said that the state is ready to present its spirit, warmth, and immense potential to the world.
Over 120 countries and territories will participate in this global competition, which promotes not only beauty but also the mission of “beauty with a purpose.” Contestants will arrive in Telangana on 7 May, and the reigning Miss World, Kristýna Pysková of the Czech Republic, will crown her successor during the finale on 31 May.
The Telangana Government has prepared a comprehensive plan for hosting the event, including infrastructure improvements, enhancement of tourist destinations, and organisation of cultural festivities. Historic sites such as the Ramappa Temple and Golconda Fort will be showcased to the global audience.
This international event will not only highlight Telangana’s rich culture and hospitality but will also place the state prominently on the global tourism map.
