HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress MLA Vemula Veeresham from Nalgonda district has fallen victim to a cybercrime involving an obscene video call. The incident has raised concerns about online scams targeting public figures.
According to reports, cybercriminals initiated a video call with the MLA, displaying explicit content. Later, they sent the recorded video to him and demanded money, threatening to share the footage with his colleagues and party leaders if he failed to comply.
Upon receiving the blackmail threat, MLA Veeresham immediately filed a complaint with the police, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the cybercrime. Officials are working to track the perpetrators and prevent further incidents.
