Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha launched the National Deworming Day (NDD) programme at the Social Welfare Residential School in Shaikpet on Monday, marking the start of a state-wide campaign to distribute Albendazole tablets to children aged 1–19 years.
The Health Department planned to cover around 98 lakh children under the initiative. Distribution was carried out at all Anganwadi centres, government and private schools, and colleges across Telangana. The minister Raja Narasimha said the deworming tablets help eliminate intestinal worms in children, improve haemoglobin levels, and strengthen immunity.
