Hyderabad: The Telangana government will issue new accreditation cards to journalists across the state next week, Minister for Revenue, Information, and Housing Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced on Thursday.

Speaking at the fourth district conference of TUWJ (IJU) held in Wyra, Khammam district, Ponguleti assured that the Congress government is committed to resolving three key issues affecting journalists accreditation, health cards, and housing sites.

He stated that final discussions with union leaders will be held in the coming days, after which new accreditation cards will be issued. Health cards will be distributed immediately after that, he said.

Regarding housing sites, Ponguleti noted that the matter is sub judice in the Supreme Court. He assured journalists that the government would consult legal experts to ensure land allocation moves forward without legal hurdles.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to media welfare, saying, “Supporting journalists in every possible way is our responsibility.”
