Hyderabad: Telangana Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka on Saturday announced that the state government will soon introduce a new Women’s Safety Policy based on public consultation and expert input.
She said the state will organize a month-long Nutrition Festival beginning September 17, followed by a Women’s Conference on September 22. The event will feature discussions with intellectuals, NGOs, and senior officials. Their inputs will shape the proposed safety policy.
The announcement came through her official statement marking the 10th anniversary of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Young Indians’ Masoom Summit, where Seethakka served as chief guest. She commended Yi for a decade of sustained work in child protection.
She said Telangana, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, is committed to a “Safe Telangana and a Free India.” The state has intensified surveillance by strengthening the Narcotics Division within the police to tackle crimes like sexual abuse, drug trafficking, and child labor.
She urged parents, teachers, and voluntary bodies to work together to instill a sense of safety and courage among children. “Children are our future. Let’s create an environment that makes them feel secure,” she said.
The people’s government @TelanganaCMO is working with firm resolve for women’s safety and child protection.
