Hyderabad: Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy will visit Chhattisgarh on September 19 to secure a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the Sammakka Sagar (Tupakulagudem) project. He will meet Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and press for clearance before the Central Water Commission (CWC) meeting.
Uttam Kumar Reddy to press for NOC in Raipur
The CWC will review Telangana’s irrigation plan on September 23. Telangana wants the NOC in hand before that session. The state government earlier wrote to Raipur seeking time with the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister. Chhattisgarh confirmed the appointment for September 19.
Uttam Kumar Reddy will travel with five senior officials. Telangana will present details of the expected flood levels and assure compensation for submergence. The minister aims to close the issue and push the project forward without delay.
