Hyderabad: The Telangana Raj Bhavan will host the Telangana–North East Connect: A Techno-Cultural Festival in two phases from November 25 to 27 and December 2 to 4, 2025, across multiple locations in Hyderabad. The initiative aims to deepen ties between Telangana and the eight North Eastern states.
A high-level coordination meeting chaired by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma was held at Raj Bhavan to finalise preparations. The event will feature over 600 participants, including Padma awardees and domain experts, and will be spread across venues such as Raj Bhavan, Ambedkar Memorial, government and private hospitals, IT offices, pharma labs, art institutions, galleries, and theatres.
Principal Secretary M. Dana Kishore, IAS, said the event will serve as a platform for cultural and professional exchange beyond symbolic gestures, with sessions spanning healthcare, IT, pharma, arts, literature, journalism, and women empowerment. The Governor termed it an expression of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
The festival will include curated discussions, exhibitions, and performances. Officials from tourism and youth services proposed additional events including a travel mart, culinary fests, film screenings, and sports exhibitions.
Departments were tasked with drawing up action plans for their respective areas, covering logistics, hospitality, media, and participation. An open competition will be launched to crowdsource the event’s logo, tagline, and poster.
Top officials present included IAS officers Jayesh Ranjan, Sanjay Kumar, Christina Z. Chongthu, Anita Ramachandran, and IPS officer Swathi Lakra, among others. Civil society leaders like Dr. Sunitha Krishnan, theatre veteran Mohammad Ali Baig, and representatives from AIG and Yashoda Hospitals also attended.
