Hyderabad: Telangana will host the “Telangana – Northeast Connect” Techno Cultural Festival in Hyderabad to strengthen ties with the Northeastern states. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma envisioned the event to promote cooperation in science, technology and culture.
Principal Secretary to the Governor, Dana Kishore, held a video conference to review preparations. He interacted with senior officials, including Health Secretary Christina Chongthu, SERP CEO Divya, State Art Gallery Director and Chief Festival Coordinator K. Lakshmi, I&PR Special Commissioner C.H. Priyanka, Panchayat Raj Director Srijana, Sports Authority MD Soni Bala Devi and Cultural Director Mamidi Harikrishna.
Telangana Northeast Connect festival to run in two phases
Dana Kishore said the festival would encourage collaboration in science, healthcare, women’s empowerment, culture and sports. The first phase will take place on November 20, 21 and 22. The second phase will follow on November 25, 26 and 27.
He explained that cultural, literary and musical programs will represent both Telangana and the Northeastern states. Moreover, screenings of films, discussion forums and exhibitions on women’s empowerment and development will also be part of the event.
The Principal Secretary stressed that Hyderabad would host such a festival for the first time. Therefore, he urged all departments to work together and ensure the program’s success. He noted that coordination and timely action would be crucial for smooth execution.
