Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan on Thursday demanded that Telangana Police take suo motu action against Andhra Pradesh leaders Nara Lokesh and G.V.L. Narasimha Rao after Telangana was omitted from an India map they shared on social media.
Citing the omission as a deliberate and dangerous act, Sravan said the map acknowledged Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh but left out Telangana, the 29th state of the Indian Union formed through a prolonged democratic struggle and constitutional process.
Sravan alleged the act reflected arrogance, contempt, and a political conspiracy to delegitimize Telangana’s existence and identity. He described it as a symbolic extermination of the state’s heritage and an insult to those who fought for its creation.
He urged registration of cases under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (2023), including Section 336 (forgery of public documents), Section 337 (forgery for the purpose of deception), Section 196 (promoting enmity between regions), Section 352 (criminal intimidation of Telangana’s political and cultural identity), and Section 353 (public mischief likely to disturb peace and incite unrest).
He also alleged that those who exploit Telangana’s Godavari and Krishna waters had now attacked its legitimacy by sharing a map where Telangana was omitted. He said the matter was not just about geography, but about struggle, identity, and constitutional rights.
The India map displayed by Andhra leaders Shri @naralokesh and Shri @MadhavBJP, deliberately omitting Telangana, is a dangerous and deeply offensive act that strikes at the very heart of our identity.
It is shocking that while Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh are clearly acknowledged… https://t.co/Bgc6xKBwoR pic.twitter.com/Mo7qRZZGGJ
