Hyderabad: The Telangana government will launch paddy procurement in the first week of October, offering support to farmers as harvesting begins by month-end.
The agriculture department has started preparations for the drive, which will run for nearly three months. The process will cover paddy harvested during the current kharif season.
In a major relief, farmers growing fine variety rice will receive a ₹500 bonus per quintal. The government has continued this incentive from last year, drawing praise from farming communities.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed officials to speed up arrangements. He also ordered departments to address the urea shortage urgently and ensure timely supply.
