Investigators seized ₹2 lakh in cash and froze ₹2.47 lakh in two bank accounts linked to betting activities. The suspects included bookies and punters from Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Nagesh, who launched the cartel via a WhatsApp group “SHINEWELL ENTERPRISES”, began operations after relocating from Chennai to Kondli Enclave in 2024. He recruited 105 members nationwide, including 20 from twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Police recovered transaction records totalling ₹8.34 crore across multiple accounts. They said Nagesh lured victims with promises of high returns and drew them into the gambling network. The irregular transactions disrupted many lives through addiction and debt.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu supervised the crackdown, supported by DCP P.V. Padmaja Reddy, DCP A. Ramana Reddy, ADCP N. Narsimha Reddy, and ACP C. Anjaiah. The case was investigated by Inspectors G. Janaiah, M. Sai Kumar and S. Saidaiah.
