Hyderabad: Authorities have launched a criminal probe into a major recruitment scam after dozens of candidates used fake documents to secure jobs as constables in Telangana.
The Central Crime Station (CCS) registered cases against 59 individuals for submitting forged bonafide certificates to falsely claim local status in Hyderabad. Of them, 54 had already been selected under the 2022 police constable notification.
Investigators said the certificates helped these candidates qualify in a local quota they didn’t rightfully belong to. Police halted their training immediately and are planning further legal steps.
Officials are now rechecking all documents submitted during the recruitment process. They said more irregularities could surface. Authorities have promised strict action to ensure future recruitments remain clean and transparent.
