Hyderabad: Telangana Police has launched a QR code-based feedback system aimed at improving transparency, accountability, and public engagement across police stations in the state.
Senior police officials said the initiative follows a series of complaints about negligent and unprofessional conduct by personnel in various regions. The system is designed to track public complaints and assess station-level functioning in real time.
The platform focuses on five key service areas: complaints, FIR registration, e-challans, passport verification, and general services. Citizens can scan QR codes placed at all police stations using their smartphones to submit ratings and feedback.
To use the system, citizens must scan the code, input their mobile number and email, mention the station visited, date, and purpose of visit, rate staff behaviour and facilities, and write a brief 100-word summary of their experience.
The system is currently active in 33 police stations across Nizamabad and 23 in Kamareddy as part of a pilot phase. Officials expect the initiative to empower citizens while providing actionable insights to improve department performance.
Nizamabad police urged the public to use the platform honestly to support reform efforts and streamline access to justice. Authorities said the feedback mechanism is intended to make police-public interactions more effective and transparent.
