Hyderabad: With Ganesh Chaturthi set to begin across the country on August 27, the Telangana Police Department has issued precautionary measures to ensure the festival passes off peacefully.
Officials said large-scale celebrations are expected in both Telugu states. To prevent untoward incidents, police have directed organizers of Ganesh pandals in districts, mandals, and towns to strictly follow safety guidelines.
Authorities made it mandatory for organizers to obtain online permission for setting up idols and pandals through the dedicated portal https://policeportal.tspolice.gov.in/index.htm. Police further instructed that pandal organizers must secure temporary power connections only through experts and avoid unauthorized electrical setups.

Organizers were asked to ensure pandals are strong enough to withstand heavy rain and winds, and that idol heights match the size of the structures. Police also advised arranging designated parking at major pandals to manage heavy crowds. Citizens were urged to report any suspicious persons near pandals immediately to local police.
