HYDERABAD, February 6: Suvarnapaka Lakshminarsu, a 36-year-old Armed Reserve (AR) Sub-Inspector serving in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, was found dead on Thursday, with preliminary reports indicating suicide. Upon receiving information from the family, local police promptly arrived at the scene, registered a case, and initiated an investigation. The specific circumstances leading to this incident remain under inquiry.
This event adds to a series of recent suicides within the Telangana Police Department. Notably, in Mulugu district, Sub-Inspector Suresh reportedly died by suicide using a firearm. Subsequently, in Kamareddy district, a Sub-Inspector and a female constable were found deceased in a lake. On the same day, in separate incidents, three constables lost their lives—two by suicide and one due to a heart attack. Additionally, in Medak district’s Kolchar, Constable Sai was found hanging from a tree within the police headquarters premises.
In response to these consecutive tragedies, the police department has initiated investigations to understand and address the underlying causes.
