Telangana to recruit 14,000 Anganwadi staff soon, says Seethakka

Hyderabad: Telangana Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka on Saturday announced that the government will soon recruit 14,000 Anganwadi teachers and helpers. The move aims to improve early childhood care services across the state.

She made the announcement during an event at TGIRD in Rajendranagar. At the event, she handed out appointment letters to 181 newly selected Grade I Supervisors. These appointments were made through the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC).

Anganwadi centres now serve education and maternal care

Seethakka stated that Anganwadi centres have evolved into more than just nutrition hubs. “They now offer foundational education and serve as centres for maternal care,” she said.

She also noted that Telangana is the only state providing 57 types of toys and uniforms to children at these centres.

Each supervisor to manage 25 Anganwadi centres

While addressing the new supervisors, the minister urged them to uphold professional ethics. She emphasised that every supervisor must oversee 25 Anganwadi centres and ensure smooth functioning.

The upcoming recruitment drive for 14,000 Anganwadi staff is expected to expand the reach and efficiency of the Women and Child Welfare Department.
