Hyderabad: The Telangana government released ₹1,612.37 crore under the Indiramma housing scheme for eligible beneficiaries, Housing Corporation Managing Director V.P. Gautam announced on Wednesday.
Indiramma housing scheme funds released
Gautam said the scheme provides permanent housing for the poor. Construction of nearly 2.12 lakh houses has begun across the state. So far, authorities credited payments to more than 1.5 lakh beneficiaries.
He explained that each beneficiary receives ₹5 lakh in installments, depending on construction progress. In addition, officials credit the amount directly into bank accounts. However, if payments are missing, he advised beneficiaries to link their Aadhaar numbers with their accounts.
₹188.35 crore credited in a single week
Construction activity continues in more than 12,000 villages and nearly 4,000 municipal wards. Meanwhile, housewarming ceremonies take place daily in several areas. Moreover, every Monday, officials release funds through a transparent process using advanced technology.
Stage-wise payments under the Indiramma housing scheme
As part of this system, officials transferred ₹188.35 crore to beneficiaries for the progress of 17,000 houses during the week ending September 24. Consequently, record numbers of payments were cleared in just one cycle.
Officials reported the following stage-wise payments:
- Basement stage: ₹1,210.76 crore for 1,21,076 houses.
- Roof level (walls completed): ₹252.64 crore for 25,264 houses.
- Roof cast (slab completed): ₹155.44 crore for 7,772 houses.
- Gautam stressed that officials transfer all funds directly through Aadhaar-linked accounts.
