Hyderabad: The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TGRERA) will introduce QR codes for all real estate projects. The move aims to improve transparency and strengthen services for buyers, developers, and promoters. Maharashtra first enforced the model in 2023 through MahaRERA, and Telangana has now begun the rollout exercise.
TGRERA will therefore require every builder to display QR codes in advertisements and promotions. Buyers who scan the code can immediately view full project details. These include developer and promoter names, the number of flats, and official approvals. Officials also confirmed that a mobile app will launch by April next year, giving consumers another access point.

In addition, TGRERA plans to install kiosks at its office. The kiosks will function like mini bank outlets. Buyers can use them to file complaints, check registration data, and access details of agents and intermediaries. As a result, Telangana will become the first state in India to run such kiosks.
The authority also decided to open a public grievance and guidance cell. This cell will explain project registration requirements, certificates, and eligibility conditions. Moreover, it will guide promoters on rules and resolve buyer complaints and doubts. Officials issued an Expression of Interest for the cell. Three agencies applied, and the authority will soon finalise one.
