Hyderabad: Telangana’s Transport Minister, Ponnam Prabhakar, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to resolving the concerns of Road Transport Corporation (RTC) employees, assuring that necessary steps are underway to address their grievances.
During an unannounced visit to the Hasanabad bus station in Siddipet district on Sunday, the minister interacted with passengers and enquired about their travel experiences and challenges. He also held informal discussions with RTC conductors and drivers to directly hear their issues.
Prabhakar stated that the government places high priority on the welfare of RTC staff, the enhancement of passenger services, and the strengthening of the TSRTC institution itself. Referring to the RTC workforce as a “family,” he pledged to act as its head and resolve issues with empathy and commitment.
“My doors are always open for discussions,” he said, noting that the employees themselves have shown readiness to engage in dialogue. He encouraged RTC staff to meet him during his scheduled presence in Hyderabad on May 5 and 6 to voice their concerns directly.
Emphasising the government’s pro-people approach under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the minister highlighted several planned reforms in the transport sector. These include the purchase of new buses, compassionate appointments, regular recruitment drives, and disbursement of the Dearness Allowance (DA).
