Hyderabad: The Telangana government sent a 35-member group of relatives of victims of the Saudi bus tragedy to Madina on Tuesday night. The move followed the deaths of 45 Umrah pilgrims in the recent accident. Moreover, the families welcomed the decision because it allowed them to attend the funeral prayers and burials of their loved ones.
After Isha prayers, the group left the Haj House in Nampally. Soon after, two special buses carried them to the Shamshabad International Airport. From there, they boarded a flight to Saudi Arabia. Throughout the process, officials guided them to ensure smooth travel.
Saudi bus tragedy families receive full support from the State
Sources said the Telangana government arranged travel, stay, and a week-long schedule for the families. First, they will reach Madina to attend the burials. Later, they will travel to Makkah to perform Umrah before returning home.
To support them further, the government sent Telangana State Hajj Committee official Irfan, along with two staff members. They will guide the families at each stage of the journey. Consequently, relatives felt more at ease during an emotional and stressful period.
The families expressed gratitude to the State government. Additionally, they said the arrangements gave them a chance to take part in the final rites of their loved ones. They also noted that the support brought some comfort after the tragedy.
