Hyderabad: The Telangana government has issued orders for the installation of an SP Balasubrahmanyam statue at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad. The iconic cultural complex already hosts the statue of music director and singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao.

Officials confirmed that responsibility for the project has been placed with the Department of Culture. Preparations will include commissioning of the sculpture, allocating space, and planning a ceremonial inauguration.
Balasubrahmanyam, popularly known as SPB, recorded more than 40,000 songs in multiple languages. His career spanned five decades, shaping the sound of Indian cinema. The statue will stand as a lasting reminder of his contribution to music and his enduring presence in Telugu culture.
