Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has emphasized the need to develop the tourism sector not only as a source of revenue but also as a means to generate employment for the youth. In a key review meeting on the tourism department held at ICCC on Friday, the CM outlined various strategies to boost the sector.
Key Highlights:
✔ Encouraging tourism investments in semi-urban and rural areas
✔ Coordination with Forest, IT, Electricity, TSIIC, Medical, and Sports departments
✔ Development of temples, wildlife sanctuaries, waterfalls, Buddhist stupas, and Jain temples
✔ Expediting the ropeway project at Bhongir Fort
✔ Formulating a comprehensive tourism policy
✔ Promoting adventure tourism
✔ Enhancing medical tourism to attract international visitors
CM’s Focus on Major Tourism Projects
The Chief Minister stressed the need to introduce boat houses in the backwaters of Nagarjuna Sagar and promote destination weddings in Telangana. He reviewed the progress of the Bhongir Fort ropeway project, where land acquisition has been completed and tenders will be invited soon.
Departmental Coordination for Policy Implementation
CM Revanth Reddy directed that the new tourism policy should be drafted in coordination with the Forest, IT, Electricity, Medical, and Sports departments to ensure seamless implementation. He also emphasized the potential of eco-tourism and medical tourism, ensuring foreign visitors receive proper facilities.
Increased Budget for Tourism Development
The meeting was attended by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Tourism Development Corporation MD Prakash Reddy, and other key officials. The CM assured that more budget allocations would be made to strengthen the tourism sector.
With these initiatives, Telangana’s tourism industry is set for a major transformation.
